Meet the autumn tradition of the south tyroleans
Törggelen" has been a special tradition of the South Tyrolean people, especially of the Eisack Valley, for centuries: according to an ancient tradition, on the last warm days of autumn in the Eisack Valley, from Neustift near Bressanone to Barbiano and Laion, the farmers open their cosy rooms to the friends of Törggelen. Especially in the area of Laion you will find many of the popular Törggelestuben. Traditional farmhouse dishes are served: Speck and cheese with Schüttelbrot, barley soup, Schlutzkrapfen, sausages, "Rippelen" (pork ribs) and Surfleisch (cured meat) with cabbage and dumplings and, of course, the delicious sweet Krapfen and the "Keschtn" (chestnuts) must not be missed at the end. Wine and apple juice are traditionally among the drinks drunk at Törggelen.
We combine the whole thing with mountain biking: over alpine pastures and meadows, spiced with exciting trails and breathtaking panoramas, we arrive at a farm and dedicate ourselves to "Törggelen". A shuttle will take us and our bikes back home.
A great experience, completely in the spirit of genuine South Tyrolean tradition!
